Inspired by the New Eagle Creek Saloon’s call to gather, Dirt, in collaboration with STABLE and artist Sadie Barnette, hosts a multi-sensory evening dedicated to Black queer world-building. Including a DMV-inspired mix from artist and DJ MUSE(O)FIRE, locally-inspired comestibles from food futurist and designer Cieara Adams, and a feature of Hermetic State’s recently published anthology "dykes day, a holigay," the evening underscores the need and importance for spaces to connect. The event both celebrates the long and sustained history of Black queer communities, and imagines new forms of world-building, such as what a holiday for lesbians can look, sound, feel, taste, and smell like. The New Eagle Creek Saloon beckons those who seek affirmation, and we are honored to answer that call.
